A Social Initiative of The Duchess Club, conceived by our Honorary Member, Dr. Prithika Chary.

The Duchess Helping Hands is a Government registered NGO with an 80G Exemption.

Our mission is to enable, empower and encourage girls between the ages of 12 years to 21 years to become strong, healthy, capable, confident and independent young women, thus contributing to the Nation.

We are working towards Education for the underprivileged girls. We are mentoring the students of St Ebbas School, Chennai on a regular basis for 8 years. We organize special tutions for std 12 and also provide them with evening snacks for 4 months before their public examinations. We have been giving scholarships every year to the achievers . We have supported about 26 girls to complete their graduations till date.

Partnership with Yein Udaan

Yein Udaan and Duchess Club partnered in January 2020 to commence a learning program organised by the NGO and implemented by volunteers from the Club.

The partnership, since then, has extended beyond volunteering to a diverse range of support outlined in the report attached below.

Yein Udaan is a grassroots organisation in Chennai, established in 2017 to provide marginalised children and women access to a safe space with diverse learning opportunities. We hand-hold children from cradle to college with the vision to set them on life-changing paths and empower women through our education and employment initiatives.

Our youngest learners are 2.5 – 4.5 years old and attend our “Playschool” program, where we prepare 20 of them for their schooling journey. These children are taught in the play-way multi-sensory method to develop their language, numeracy, thinking and movement skills.
